On September 3rd the tenth edition of our annual customer event took place at Grimbergen: Spotit Inspire. An edition filled with inspiring key-notes and break-out sessions, but also a moment to look back on the past 10 years and raise a glass on wonderful partnerships and successfully completed projects. Let’s take a look at the remarkable highlights of Spotit Inspire 2024.
Steven, CEO at spotit, kicked off the event with a walk down memory lane and a peak behind the curtains. His presentation ‘Back To The Future’ showed off the wonderful spotit culture and long-standing partnerships. He showed us the many ways spotit has evolved over the past 10 years, but proved how the fundamental spotit values will never change! While the audience had a good laugh with the old pictures from the start, they also learned spotit’s goals and ambitions for the future: marketing a revamped CSIRT managed detection & response offering, adding extra focus on OT security, inform everyone about the latest governance regulations and compliance, but above all, staying the best in cybersecurity and networking. These main focuses and cutting edge technologies by Cisco, Palo Alto Networks and F5 were further presented during the many sessions at Spotit Inspire.
Elisabeth De Dobbeleer (Vice President at Cisco) and Yves Mertens (Managing Director Cybersecurity EMEA at Cisco) took the stage to talk about how you should connect and protect your organization in the current AI era. A hot topic, since there’s no denying we’re at the start of the most significant transformation in how people live and work. Cisco has fundamentally reimagined cybersecurity and shared some exclusive insights with us on what’s to come.
Yesterday’s approaches don’t support today’s reality
A great event always brings a testimonial. This edition Björn Rotsaert, CIO at Ajinomoto OmniChem, got the stage. He gave a live testimony about the digital transformation, and security journey of this leading company in improving the health of humankind. Björn shared the company’s vision for 2030, the IT and cybersecurity challenges, how spotit helped optimizing their environment, and of course the results: backlog request -50% and pro-active monitoring is now a fact! A vivid story many organizations recognize themselves in.
Don’t try to be an IT company if you’re not
System overload
Afterwards, it was time to split up in 3 rooms to get inspired by the many interesting break-out sessions given by our own spotit experts. A lot of information and updates were shared during these 9 sessions, making it hard for the attendees to choose between the many captivating titles:
How regulations will affect your network & security strategy
5 ways to screw up your network operations
The future of sec ops
How to secure the cloud on a rainy day
Beyond the perimeter: tackling security challenges in OT remote access
The usual suspects: Keyser SASE
What could go wrong? – The (almost) perfect phish
Take a front row seat at the spotit NOC – leveraging next-gen firewall capabilities
Secure your application in less than 5 minutes
For those suffering FOMO (fear of missing out) we have good news! All presentations are available on demand. Don’t hesitate to reach out and request a presentation and/or conversation with the expert via [email protected]
Under attack… by a bear?
After the break-out sessions we all gathered to get inspired by Jesper Olsen, Chief Security Officer EMEA at Palo Alto Networks. His presentation, with the mysterious title ‘5 Universal Facts’ deep-dived into the challenges all organizations face, no matter the industry or country: increasing complexity, requirements, ambitions, and cybercrime, combined with decreasing resources. Remarkable to mention, Jesper stated it’s not possible, realistic, and wise for organizations to unlimitedly keep investing in cybersecurity. The goal is to make smart, strategic investments aligned with your business. He compared it to running away from a bear. You don’t have to be the fastest, you only have to run faster than your friend 😉
Celebrating 10 years
Next on the agenda: raising a glass to celebrate 10 years of spotit, partnerships, and a loyal customer base. After that, we invited stand-up comedian Hans Cools for the occasion and laughed the evening away. The very recognizable situations had us almost crying, but also made us rethink a few concepts of our modern society. Everyone present will definitely understand why we give him ‘the green sticker’.
“Spotit Inspire allows me to spend valuable time with our customers that helps me understand their biggest challenges and needs. It’s the ideal place to share knowledge and experience. About the services we provide to them but also about where we prioritize our innovations and new developments. As operations manager I leave filled with pride when I see my people actively sharing with customers, but I also leave with a full to do list that allows us to become an even better partner.” – Wim Remes
We ended the day the way we started it, with delicious food, great company, inspiring discussions and many opportunities to connect with peers and experts. Want to attend our success formula next year? Keep an eye on our pages!
